Sew, What's New?

Curating sewing and quilting talent, techniques, and tutorials, since 1997.

I have so many patterns! I use a metal filing cabinet and have my patterns lined up two rows per drawer. I have them in grouped by type: Children, Men, Home Dec, Women which I have most is also broken down by dress, jackets, blouses, pants, etc. It sure makes looking for something easier. I have been sewing for 40+ years and almost got rid of some of my older patterns because they were taking up so much space in my sewing room. Having the filing cabinet in my attic but still easily accessible makes my life so much easier. I am glad I didn't get rid of some of the older patterns ( I even have patterns from the 40s) because I love combining design elements from several different patterns to come up with one of a kind outfits!

I already had a large one. But it depends on how many patterns you have! lol

That's what I was thinking about doing - using the filing cabinet. Glad it is working for you. It just seems like a sensible solution to me. Do you use a large or small? I'm guessing the large lol!
