Sew, What's New?

Curating sewing and quilting talent, techniques, and tutorials, since 1997.

I use them and like them a lot. I wouldn't say that it makes you see better. It is a clear, white light that is easy on the eyes.Fabric colors are clear & true, like daylight in the window.
I do agree with HeyJudee also, now you can buy the energy saver bulbs [ they have the day light type also], it's cheaper with the same clear light.
There is a daylite company that sells the same freestanding lamps and they cost a lot less.

Here in Canada the free standing Ottl lites are very expensive unless you can get a 40% off coupon for Michaels. I never had one until my friend passed away and I bought her's from her daughter. I love it as I can move it to where I need the light.

But in my sewing room, I have a kind of track lighting on the ceiling. I am using the new enery saving low watt bulbs as the fixture has three sockets and the limit is 60 watts in each. I'm using the Daylight bulbs equivalent to 100 have really good lighting for cutting, pressing and sewing too.
