Sew, What's New?

Curating sewing and quilting talent, techniques, and tutorials, since 1997.

Upon browsing my inbox and Miss Creative's blog spot this afternoon, I got inspired. It got me to thinking....yeah, dangerous, we all know that by now! :)

Let's have a little FUN shall we!

Miss C is the luckiest seamstress I know. She's getting a brand new and improved sewing room (area)! How awesome is that!? That's when I thought......wouldn't it be interesting if we could glance into one anothers sewing domains? I'd love to see how my sewing friends decorate, organize and enjoy their space.

Now, some of you may consider your sewing space private and I totally respect that.

BUT, if you don't mind the world viewing:

  • your clutter
  • the baby's toys on the floor
  • the trash overloaded with fabric scraps
  • yesterday's mail on top of the TV
  • the empty cola cans behind the lamp
  • the unfinished projects lining the wall
  • or the dust on the tables

then join me in celebrating your space and share it with us.

I've began this adventure with a picture of my space. I have to share my space with the home office and the kids computer (which are on the other side of the room), but most of the time, it's mine!

When you reply, make sure you post a pic of your space!

I can't wait for the sharing to begin!

The room is finished I have to dress it up now with my sewing accessories. I had a lot going on since the new year arrived, so I haven't had a chance to really appreciate my sewing space but if God permits I will.

What a well-organized sewing space.  Great to have a window in front of you as well.  I really need to tidy my sewing space up before taking photos as it doubles as a guest room.

Shannon, your space is soooo nice!  I love your organization.  And Angee you have such a nice, bright, tidy, roomy space.  How nice!   This is a great thread.  I am right in the middle of rearranging furniture and rooms in my house and am currently working on making a sewing space in one of our basement rooms and I'm looking for ideas.  I'm also excited about having all my sewing/crafting stuff in one place and not having to pull it out and put it away all the time since I've been using the dining room table.  :)  My poor family has been so patient with me.  I can't count how many times the kids have had to push aside my cutting board and eat amidst all my sewing supplies, ha!

Thanks Miss Creative!  It does take time, but well worth it in the end.

Can't wait to see your room.

Wow Marsha you have a lot of fabric and stuff but your organising is really well done. It must have taken you some time to do all of that. All the pics of you ladies sewing spaces so far are brilliant. Hoping to upload my pics soon, hubby is still decorating.

Thanks Angee! It feels good to have it all in place where I can see what I have to work with. I will have to reorganize each drawer at a later date.

Well after several hours I have my sewing room all cleaned and organized. I was even able to get all my lace trims in the room. Still can't get my fabric in here, they are in my bedroom. I have 3 narrow floor to ceiling builtin bookcases overflowing with fabric. I will have to organize that
another day and take pictures.
