How To Replace a Coat or Jacket Zipper

"Replace a zipper in a woolen coat like a champ. Step by step, you'll learn that this problem gets all zipped up when you dedicate yourself to the SEW AWAY instead of THROW AWAY mentality and commit to saving a coat." - Alterations by Phyllis

When I replace zippers I mark a slash line over the zipper , so when I put the new zipper in I can line it up. Sometimes different material is used and one side may stretch more than the other. When the under flap is sewn separate, I pin as I rip  and then sew that together before I place in the new zipper. Slash line on the front of the coat and also lined up on the lining side helps keep things from stretching out.

Loved to see that someone would do all that double pinning and checking like I would.  I often wondered if I was the only anal person out there.  The one thing I did not care for was the changing of the picture and the swirling stuff.  I'm 67 yo and I thought I was having a fainting spell!!!  I find it annoying.
