Shirring is great! I looks pretty and is really useful for making dresses and skirts.

Thank you,

I just hand fill a bobbin with elastic thread, kind of loosely, and use regular thread on the top. Use the longest stitch you have, and be SURE to secure beginning and end of each row.  After several rows of stitching, (make sure the elastic is on the wrong side of the fabric), use a steam iron holding it just off the fabric, and the elastic shrinks up... sometimes almost in half, if you have a lot of rows.

What kind of thread do u use in the bobbin. Is it elastic?  Am excited to try this.  Brenda in Knoxville TN

I loved this! I made a Valentine's skirt for my granddaughter with a scrap of fabric, and 5 rows of shirring. Also made the headband, with 3 rows. Got all sorts of compliments. I've already made a skirt for St. Patrick's day for her. THANK YOU!

Terrific video! I even watched it with the sound off and still got a very clear understanding of how to do it. Thanks for making it.

looks very easy, some talking on the video would've been nice.
